Thanks for stepping onto The Elevator. I’m David Sherry, previously founder of Death to Stock. Every week I work with ~12+ business owners via a strategy and growth coaching practice. The Elevator shares new layers of understanding from tools that help you grow personally and professionally.
The Lobby
This past Tuesday I hosted a meetup for some founders in the wellness space at a spa that had a cold plunge + sauna.
It might have been the most enjoyable meetup I’ve had in a bit, given that we could bond over the cold + hot, and had dinner on the patio after. It was super relaxing and refreshing.
After Austin last month, now LA, I think I’ll shoot for some more ambitious gatherings for founders with more non-traditional settings.

Trend: “Transformation Houses”
There’s now a “third space” membership option for the wellness obsessed: In between a bathhouse and gym membership. We can call them “Transformation Houses.”
After building what is probably the best breathwork app or “Calm app for Breathwork” Othership is continuing to build out physical locations as centers for communal wellness.
The culture of Mental health apps and services is going from digital to IRL, and from individual to communal. Wyt, would you join a breathwork and sauna-only gym?

Ritual: Up thinking about work at 2am?
I often get the question from founders who say they are still awake at 2am, obsessing over work…
Just like you have a morning routine, it helps to have a shutdown routine.
Creating some separation between my life and work at the end of the day has been as simple as adding a task to the end of my to-do list which is to run my “Shut down ritual.”
For me, that ritual consists of cleaning up my desk and office from the day, writing “I am now shutting down” in my notebook, and then planning the day ahead.
III.
Culture: The “Sociology” of Business.
If you’re tired of the same business blogs, I've got a unique newsletter for you with more advanced insights. Ana Andjelic is a brand advisor and Forbes' top influential CMO. I interviewed her aa while back for Jacuzzi Club.
I just upgraded to paid with her Substack newsletter that shares insights into the changing culture of brands with some unique takes and strategies on building cultural relevant companies.
I’m always looking for the best resources for business owners both personally and professionally so if you have any recs give me a shout in the comments.

Training: Intuitive Soundscapes
MindSpa uses 25-minute 3D Immersive soundscapes to help you get into a deep meditative state. As you progress through the program, the strength and intensity of the 3D sound increase which helps you drop into meditation faster with practice.
You can even make your meditation journey more personal by adding your own voice's frequency.
Intuition practice
The app is unique in that it puts a focus on developing your intuition. As someone who relies heavily on gut feelings, I've found this feature incredibly beneficial.
See you next time.
As always, lmk how I can help and feel free to reply/DM/reach out.
