The Lobby: Heading to Nicaragua for a Workshop
Hey everyone! First some updates, then the latest items to share.
I’m heading to Nicaragua in December where I’ll be hosting a workshop communicating your “value” for a group of entrepreneurs. This is part of an ongoing process of helping entrepreneurs with 1-1 sales conversations. Grateful to be able to connect with amazing people in a beautiful location!
One of my goals is to take a full week offline every year. Seasonally, it helps me prep for the year ahead and move into more of a listening phase. It’s also a nice constraint for how I structure my work.
Community Ask / Needs Board
A client of mine Truffl (Award winning branding studio) is hiring a Director of Agency Operations – they’re based here in LA.
I have a client who could use a great Fractional CMO (Ecomm) if anyone you know could be a fit!
I’ve been in multiple conversations with people in the past few weeks related to bringing on a CEO or President. When is this right? How do you make it work? What about negotiating the package or opportunity? If you or someone you know is in this moment feel free to reach out.
Ok now on to the letter…

Fathom Video for Meeting Recordings
There are a variety of different automated note-taking apps for meetings. I’ve been using Fathom as my preferred app.
When you use Fathom an app joins the Zoom call, records a transcript, auto-generates a summary, and gives you a video link in a library to reference later.
My favorite feature goes beyond that and allows you to “tag” in real-time parts of your conversation that are worth highlighting and viewing later. The email summaries have been a nice tool for follow-up as well.

Watching: The 7 Truths of Wealth Dynamics
You can’t embrace a new belief until you first “know” that something is true. This video breaks down how we progress in our own understanding of beliefs around wealth and the ladder we climb.
At every stage of our progress, we need to unlearn one truth and adopt another.
The first truth is “We all play different games to make money.”
A stock trader uses arbitrage, an influencer multiplies attention, Warren Buffet acquires and compounds assets.
More importantly, do you know what game you’re playing, and is that game aligned with who you naturally are?

Kitchen Upgrade: Milk Frother
I’ve been using the frozen pods from Cometeer when I make coffee at home. I’ve just discovered how easy it is to make latte foam and milk using one of these simple milk frothers. You just add milk, turn it on and you’ve got great foam. I’m going to be using this for drinking Cacao.
Here’s one from Nespresso and a cheaper Amazon option.

Learning: Masterclass on Negotiation
How we say something matters. As does the nuances of our voice inflection, or the types of words we choose (for example, “you seem” vs. “I feel”).
This course from Masterclass is a great guide to learning to better understand the nuance of having conversations, regardless if this is a negotiation.
My favorite part is when he does live sessions with actors to show you the practice in real time.

Device: Vagus Nerve Stimulation
There are certain days of the week or on occasion when I can tell my system is overstimulated. Often from a combination of intense work and coffee. I’m looking at playing around with a device like the Pulsetto or Nurosym to shift my state quickly and bring some calm.
As a reminder, Black Friday is coming up so I’m watching devices like this go on sale.

Riding across the Golden Gate Bridge, and some Fall Colors back in Ohio.
Always reach out if I can help.
Love you all and talk soon,
