Rosebud AI: A Thinking Partner for Personal Challenges
The Elevator: Curated inputs to elevate your business and expand your lifestyle.
I’ve really been enjoying Rosebud app. It’s the first AI app I’ve used that made me think “wow this is as good as 50+% of therapists/coaches.”
That’s a big statement. I don’t mean is that it will replace coaching or therapy, etc. (which I only see as getting more popular, not less). Rather, I see these always-on assistants as tools for our thinking that all of us will constantly have in our pockets.
You can think of Rosebud as a journaling app, except that, the journal responds to what you say. Remember Harry Potter and the Camber of Secrets? It’s a journal sort of like that, except much more helpful and less evil :) … (I think?)
AI journaling apps take one-way dialogues, and make them two-way.
No more tagging, no more organizing, and reviews and diagnostics of patterns are done automatically.
Remember the whole Roam Research, second brain type craze… ? Well now that will all simply be done for you.
This journal (and others) will point out patterns across entries, and connect ideas for you, that you may have never connected yourself.
More and more, we’ll use these AI’s to make decisions, and give us a “thinking partner” that allows us to better identify our needs, our challenges, and our opportunities.
Of course, there are risks here.
Suggestibility, from the AI to the human, is high. Meaning that these apps will suggest things that sound good, or sound true, and yet might not be, and might not be useful or workable for you. You’ll need your own discernment more than ever.
And these apps won’t give you connection.
In a world that can feel more lonely despite all of our feeds and screens, we miss connection itself, which is a major curative factor of therapy and connection.
Our interconnectedness itself is part of the value of organizations.
AI efficiency gains will help us lean more into our creative and personal attributes.
However, everyone will have these “thinking” partners in their pockets. And Rosebud is a really good example of what that looks like. Right now I think it’s a great addition to your personal development stack.
Have a great rest of the week,
xx David

Love this!
I started journaling as a kid. And it evolved into expressive writing as an adult. One of the reasons I’ve loved the practice is just as you described: I can see my thinking and spot patterns more easily when it’s on paper and in front of me. Really excited to see what an AI could show me. Thanks for putting this on my radar!
